THE USEFUL PART

A successful connection is the start of the review. Check property matching, imported information and the guest-facing guide as separate steps.

A connection and a ready property are different milestones#

EvryStay’s Hostaway connection can import properties and guest-guide content. It does not remove the need to check what guests will see. A listing description written to sell a stay may not explain where to park, how to operate the heating or which entrance to use.

EvryStay’s Hostaway guide separates the connection, property import, appearance setup and guest-guide review. It also explains that guest-guide content, reservations and conversations can continue loading after the initial properties appear. Review each stage on its own evidence rather than treating the first visible property as proof that everything has finished.

Check the match before accepting it#

The most useful time to catch a duplicate is before creating it. For each PMS listing, compare the proposed match with the property you already use. A similar name is a prompt to check the address and details, not enough reason to accept a match.

  1. Confirm that the PMS listing and the proposed EvryStay property refer to the same place.
  2. Choose whether to connect an existing property, create a new one or skip the listing for now.
  3. Review suggestions before using an option that accepts several listings together.
  4. Start the import after resolving uncertain matches.
  5. Record skipped listings so they can be reviewed later rather than recreated by accident.

These choices follow the existing Hostaway setup guide. If your PMS or account offers a different flow, use the instructions shown for that connection instead of assuming the same controls exist.

Review information by what the guest needs to do#

A practical guest-guide review
InformationReview question
Arrival and parkingCan a guest find the correct entrance and the correct parking space?
AccessAre the instructions current, and shared through your intended access process?
Wi-FiDoes the network name and password match what is at the property?
AppliancesDo instructions refer to the actual appliance and controls?
House rules and departureAre the times and instructions consistent with the stay arrangements?
Contact informationCan the guest reach the right person if the guide does not answer the question?

If the import proposes new guide text or changes to existing text, compare the suggestion with the property before accepting it. A field being filled is not the same as the information being correct. Keep useful existing instructions when an imported description does not improve them.

Check the version the guest will actually read#

After saving or publishing the intended guide changes, open the guest-facing view on a phone. Confirm the right property is displayed, the headings are understandable and the information you changed is present. This catches a different class of problem from reading the editor alone.

Do the arrival test for at least one representative property, then review the property-specific details on the others. Shared wording can help with consistency, but an entrance photo, parking space or appliance model cannot be assumed to apply across a portfolio.

Leave a short record of what is ready#

For each property, record the match decision, whether the initial import finished, which guide sections need attention and whether the guest-facing version was checked. This is a review checklist, not a replacement for the system’s own sync status.

Illustrative review record

Property: [internal property reference]. Match checked: [person/date]. Initial import: [observed state]. Guide work remaining: [sections]. Guest view checked: [person/date]. Next action: [owner and action].

When something is still loading, check the integration’s status and guidance before reconnecting or creating another property. If the observed state is unclear, ask support to help interpret it. A second setup attempt can make a review harder if it introduces another property to reconcile.
